fellow 3/17th Troopers:
It's reunion time again. This year the reunion is again in St. Louis, MO. We picked this area for its central location in the US. We have pretty much traveled all over the States. Since some of us are getting older, we want to have a consistent meeting location. Also during our travels we have had smaller reunion attendance than we wanted due to the fact that some thought we would eventually be close to them. This year we will need to evaluate this and other probabilities for the future of the reunions. Your attendance is needed this year to help decide our future.
This year is our election of officers. If you have attended at least one past reunion, you are eligible to be elected an officer. No one has a hold on any position you are free to nominate anyone including yourseld. Should anyone be interested, contact Brian Piggott, association secretary or me. Last year's reunion was great. Several new people along with the OLD ones were there. This time we need your attendance in order to continue our reunions. We have lost several men just in the last year. One kept saying he was coming, then last year a few days afterwards I found out he had died.
St. Louis is a great place to visit. Even around the hotel, there are lots of places to eat and shop. The hotel shuttle will take us up to five miles away to malls and sites close by. There is free shuttle service from the airport. This hotel is one of the best we have ever used.
Please make your reservations as soon as possible.
Airport Shuttle: The hotel provides free shuttle service from 6:30am - 11:00 pm on weekdays and 7:00 am - 11:00 pm on weekends. Use the courtesy phones near the luggage carousels.
Driving Instructions: From Hwy 70, take I 270 S. Take the Page East Exit. Stay in the right lane, exiting at the first exit, Lackland Road/Wesport Plaza Drive. Make a right turn onto Lackland heading West. (For you old scouts West is the direction the sun sets) and make another right turn onto Westport Plaza Drive heading North. proceedto the first traffic light at the Westline Plaza Complex. Follow the road around to the Sheration Plaza Hotel.
