3/17th ACR ASSOCIATION

OBJECTIVES

The 3/17th ACR Association is dedicated to the fulfillment of the following purposes.

a. The principle objective of the 3/17 ACR Assn. is to promote and improve
the esprit de corps, traditions, and the history of the 3rd Squadron,
      17th Air Cavalry Regiment.

b.   To seek out, using whatever means available, individuals who served with
the  3/17th ACR and inform them of the existence of the 3/17th ACR Association and encourage all eligible individuals to become members.

In addition, the 3/17th ACR Association is dedicated to providing an atmosphere
where meeting new friends, finding old friends, and remembering lost friends,
can occur without distraction or political agenda
.

3/17TH HONOR ROLL

"It is the soldier, not the reporter who has given us the freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who gives us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag." ~Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, Sergeant, USMC

VIETNAM

Right or Wrong, is no longer an issue

Men and Women gave of themselves for something more.

And that something more, was each other.

Women in Vietnam

I would especially like to talk to those nurses who have any doubts, who wondered
if it was right for them to save us ... if I am reaching any of you out there, I just
want you to know one thing: our lives were irrevocably changed by the presence of
those military nurses.  You did something that no one else could do.  And I
swear to you that we will never ever ever forget you.

~ In Memoriam and in Thanks~

“If other eyes should grow dull and other hands slack,
and other hearts cold in solemn trust, ours shall keep it well
as long as the light and warmth of life remains in us."

Rest easy, sleep well my brothers.

Know the line has held, your job is done.

Rest easy, sleep well.

Others have taken up where you fell, the line has held.

Peace, peace, and farewell...

We support our troops

A VETERAN, WHETHER ACTIVE DUTY, RETIRED, NATIONAL GUARD, OR RESERVE-
IS SOMEONE WHO , AT ONE POINT IN HIS OR HER LIFE, WROTE A BLANK CHECK
MADE PAYABLE TO THE " UNITED STATES OF AMERICA." FOR AN AMOUNT UP TO
AND INCLUDING MY LIFE. "THIS IS HONOR, AND THERE ARE WAY TOO MANY
PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY WHO NO LONGER UNDERSTAND IT.
